  • Each lesson at walkingbasslessons.com is illustrated with PDF file containig standard notation and tablature to help you analyse each example.
  • I also included for you a backing tracks of popular jazz standards to help you practice lesson material in the way closest to live band situation. When learning walking bass, you have to hear how the notes you play sound against the chord. This is why I give you these play along tracks of drums and piano. For learning purposes, these two instruments are all you need to play along to. Drums keep your time steady and piano simply plays the chord that you, as a bass player have to outline in your walking.
  • You get backing tracks in three different tempos, so you can use them at any level of your experience. Also as we go along with lesson material, I give you the same tunes in different keys, so you don’t stick to one key when learning your walking. Practicing in 12 keys is the best favour you can do yourself. It is going to make you so much better musician. This is what differs good players from mediocre ones. This is what separates man from boys (and women from girls obviously:)). I give you the tools to make this practice interesting, and the rest is up to you. Whether you are going to have enough patience and persistence or whether you will take the short cut like most of the poor players and stick to a few keys in which you feel comfortable.  It is all in your hands.
  • In each module I give you different tunes to study lesson material . It is very important that you step out of your comfort zone and force yourself to apply learned informations to a new jazz standard.
